Oh I’m so excited about this…. yes!! I am really doing this!!

I’ve had such a lovely couple of years, growing my photography business. I’ve met some wonderful people along the way and I’ve had some amazing weddings. I love all of them, from bright Orange Gerberas, to 1920s Headpieces, from Purple Dresses to Retro Sweets, I can pick out a feature of every single wedding I’ve done and you’ve all been ruddy fab!!

I’ve decided to celebrate my upcoming 2nd birthday, and to kick start the count down to my website re-launch, starting my 3rd year in business; with a FANTASTIC one off competition open to ALL BRIDES and GROOMS  whether you’re getting married or having a Civil Partnership. It doesn’t matter if you’re 20 or 80. If you’re getting wed, or having a humanist ceremony; you can enter! All you need to have, is a ceremony and reception booked (or about to be) on one day, within 60 miles of Coventry, between 1st April 2012 and 30th August 2013 and to not have booked a photographer already. That’s it! How easy is that!

Today, my smallest daughter turned three. It’s not often I do a personal post, but on my daughter’s birthdays I like to mark the occasion. While our biggest was at school, we braved the winter cold, wrapped up in our best woolley hat and went to Hoar Park Farm to feed the animals, have some lunch and of course, after a stomp in the playground, line our tummies with chocolate cake.

I’ve finally got round to blogging these images. It’s only been 4 months since the shoot! But what a shoot! I was asked by my good friend Lisa of Lisa Fellows Photography to assist on a special shoot with a difference back in February. The idea of the shoot was to show how gowns and corsets can fit women in a way that is beautiful and real. All too often, bridal gowns are only ever modelled on tiny girls who don’t show that not only are corsets suitable for the figures of all sizes but they can look absolutely gorgeous regardless as well.

We worked for the day with the amazing Janice of Uptight Clothing who is based in Bedfordshire. If you’re after a stunning gown with colour, or a wedding dress that is different from the rest, or a corset that shows off or heightens your curves, you’ve got to go and see Janice! Her shop is something to be seen to believe, it’s absolutely magical.

The models were Lisa’s friends Silva and Sharon who did a fabulous job on the day braving the cold February winds to wander around an industrial estate with us in a selection of amazing gowns. Both women were delighted with the curves that the corsets provided them in different ways and I think it’s fair to say, they looked fantastic!

Don’t forget Lisa too, not only is she is a wonderful Wedding Photographer whom I’ve had the absolute pleasure in assisting before as well, but she’s also a children’s portrait photographer, founder of Logan & Letty – website in progress! So if you’re based in Stroud and the surrounding areas, she’s one to look out for. There’s a picture of her at the end in action!

And finally a quick shout out to Violet Peacock as well, she is one talented lady. The image of the little black block hat? That’s from her Millinery creation collection – uber cool.

I was very fortunate with the gorgeous lighting available in his home, and I’m very grateful to his parents for allowing me to share these images with you. He is utterly scrumptious, I very nearly took him home with me
